Getting Started with Ephra
Creating Your Account
- Download Ephra from the App Store
- Tap “Create Account” or “Sign In”
- Enter your email and create a password
- Verify your email address
- Complete your profile setup
Connecting with a Care Provider
- Go to Providers in the app
- Search for your care provider by name or browse available providers
- Send a connection request
- Once accepted, you can book appointments and share health data
Tracking Your Wellness
Health Metrics
- Tap the Dashboard to see your wellness overview
- Log sleep, steps, and calories manually or sync from Apple Health
- View trends over time with charts and insights
Journaling
- Go to Journal and tap New Entry
- Write about your day, thoughts, or feelings
- Use Body Mapping to identify where you feel sensations
- Select emotions and intensity levels
- Save your entry (visible to your care providers)
Booking Appointments
- Go to Appointments
- Tap Book New
- Select your care provider
- Choose an available date and time
- Confirm your booking

Is Ephra free?
Ephra offers both free and premium tiers. The free tier includes basic health tracking and provider connections. Premium unlocks advanced analytics, additional features, and priority support.Who can see my health data?
Only you and your assigned care providers can see your health data. You control which providers have access, and you can revoke access at any time. Platform administrators may access data for support purposes but are bound by strict privacy policies.Is Ephra HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Ephra is designed to comply with HIPAA regulations. Your health data is encrypted (AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit), access is logged, and we maintain Business Associate Agreements with all vendors who handle health data.Can I use Ephra in a crisis?
No. Ephra is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or having thoughts of self-harm, please contact:

Ephra is for ongoing wellness tracking and care coordination, not crisis intervention.How do I sync with Apple Health?
- Go to Settings > Integrations > Apple Health
- Tap Connect
- Choose which data types to share (sleep, steps, etc.)
- Confirm permissions in the Apple Health app
How do I delete my account?
- Go to Settings > Account
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm deletion
Your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable retention requirements.
Ephra Troubleshooting
I can’t log in
- Check your email: Make sure you verified your email address
- Reset password: Tap “Forgot Password” on the login screen
- Check internet connection: Ephra requires an internet connection
- Update the app: Ensure you have the latest version
My data isn’t syncing
- Pull down on the screen to refresh
- Check your internet connection
- Go to Settings > Sync and tap Sync Now
- If offline, your data will sync when you reconnect
Push notifications aren’t working
- Go to your device Settings > Notifications > Ephra
- Ensure notifications are enabled
- In Ephra, go to Settings > Notifications and check your preferences

How to Scan a Light
- Open FlickerSense and tap Start Scan
- Point your camera at the light source (aim the crosshair at the brightest part)
- Hold steady for 10 seconds while the scan completes
- View your results and recommendations
Understanding Your Results
- Flicker: Measures invisible pulsing in lights. High flicker (>10%) can cause headaches and eye strain.
- Brightness: Measured in lux. 300-500 lux is good for office work.
- Color Temperature: Measured in Kelvin. Lower (warm/orange) is relaxing; higher (cool/blue) is alerting.
Tips for Accurate Scans
- Get within 1-2 feet of the light source
- Keep your phone steady during the scan
- Avoid scanning through glass or plastic covers
- For overhead lights, point directly up at the fixture
- Scan in a darker environment to reduce interference

Is FlickerSense free?
Yes! FlickerSense offers a generous free tier that includes:
- Unlimited light scans
- Flicker, brightness, and color temperature measurements
- 7-day scan history
- Research articles and educational content
- Low stimulation accessibility mode
Premium features (unlimited history, trends, locations, and more) are available through subscription.Does FlickerSense save photos or videos?
No. FlickerSense analyzes your camera feed in real-time but never saves, stores, or transmits photos or videos. All processing happens on your device, and camera data is immediately discarded after analysis.How accurate are the measurements?
FlickerSense uses your phone’s camera to estimate light properties. Results are suitable for general assessment but may vary based on:
- Your device model and camera quality
- Distance from the light source
- Environmental conditions
For professional or regulatory measurements, specialized equipment may be needed.What devices are supported?
FlickerSense requires:
- iPhone or iPad with iOS 17.0 or later
- A working rear camera
Most iPhones from iPhone X onward are supported.

How do I subscribe to Premium?
- Open FlickerSense
- Go to Settings
- Tap the “Upgrade to Premium” card

- Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed through Apple:
- Open Settings on your iPhone
- Tap your Apple ID at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find FlickerSense and tap Cancel Subscription

If you’ve previously purchased Premium:
- Open FlickerSense
- Go to Settings

Refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund:
- Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find your FlickerSense purchase
- Request a refund
We cannot process refunds directly.
Privacy & Data
What data does FlickerSense collect?
Stored on your device only:
- Scan results and history
- Location data (if you enable it)
- Health data correlations (if you enable HealthKit)
- App settings and preferences
Sent to our servers (anonymized):

To delete all your scan history:
- Open FlickerSense
- Go to Settings
- Scroll to the bottom
- Tap “Delete All Data”
- Confirm deletion
Note: This action cannot be undone.
FlickerSense Troubleshooting
The camera isn’t working
- Check permissions: Go to Settings > FlickerSense > Camera and ensure it’s enabled
- Restart the app: Close FlickerSense completely and reopen it
- Restart your device: Sometimes a device restart helps
- Check for other apps: Make sure no other app is using the camera
Scan results seem inaccurate
Try these tips:
- Move closer to the light source (1-2 feet)
- Hold your phone steady during the scan
- Avoid scanning through glass, plastic covers, or diffusers
- Ensure the light is the primary light source in frame
- Try scanning in a darker environment to reduce interference
The app is crashing
- Update the app: Ensure you have the latest version from the App Store
- Update iOS: Make sure your device is running iOS 17.0 or later
- Restart your device: A restart often resolves issues
- Reinstall the app: Delete and reinstall FlickerSense

Premium features aren’t unlocking
